Some time ago I posted a message about some videos I'd uploaded to my
streaming media server, but I was informed that they weren't working
properly. Well it took me quite a while to figure it out, and I feel pretty
silly now that I have... the problem was really quite simple. You can't
stream video at a higher data rate than the speed of your internet
connection! So anyway... I've re-encoded all the videos to stream at about
95Kbps... so anybody with cable or DSL will be able to view them this way.
For everybody else, or if you want to see the original higher resolution
version I've setup access to them directly through my web site... here you
will just download the whole video before viewing it instead of having it
stream.
To view the lower resolution streaming videos you'll need either windows media
player or real player or an equivalent that plays .wmv or mpeg files. the
URLs are:
mms://www.dcsol.com/moose-low.wmv
mms://www.dcsol.com/mowing-low.wmv
mms://www.dcsol.com/sky-low.wmv
mms://www.dcsol.com/splash-low.wmv
To view the higher or lower resolution without streaming just go to the
following URL:
http://www.dcsol.com/videos
