Engine mounting nuts / bolts

First a word of caution. If you are picking up your Lycoming O-360 (and
I presume O-320) oil pressure at the right rear oil gallery plug just
inboard of the upper right Dynafocal mount cup it is mandatory to screw
in the 45 degree restrictor fitting BEFORE you mount the engine on the
Dynafocal mount. It also needs to point more or less down and to the
left. Please don't ask how I discovered this.

While rectifying the above I used the the MAM supplied bolts and all
metal self locking nuts and further discovered that it will take (for my
mount / rubbers / engine) that a total of 3 washers are required to
prevent the nut bottoming on the bolt shank. Since this is only
discovered after the fact, the nuts had to be removed to add the
additional washer(s).

That leads to the following question. Is it permissible, i.e.
reasonable practice, to reuse the metal self locking nuts and/or bolts
once, provided they seem to have sufficient remaining assembly torque or
would it be prudent to replace the nuts or both bolt and nut.

Thank you for your considered opinions,
Ralph Baker

Ralph, Mike Davis, and others,
I posted a couple of pics of my oil press fitting. I too wrestled with
this a little before finally getting it right.
Mike, I posted the second picture to the wrong section could you please move
it over to the rebel engine section. Thanks.

Bingelis says that even the nylon insert locknuts can be used many times
as long as they still grip.
