CHT's and Easy Lift Floats
Posted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:11 pm
I have CHT's on Cyl 1 and 4 and they run 375F and 385F respectively pretty
much steady, no matter what I do. Even a 3000 foot heavy prop hang climb at
35/40 MPH only pokes them above 415 or so!
I have EGT's on Cyl 2 and 3 and they run around 1350F when leaned out in
cruise.
As for the Easy Lift floats...........weeelll ......all I can say is stay
the hell away from anything that comes out of Quebec and especially if it
has Roger Lalonde involved in any way. He has taken DOZENS of people for
$15000 (depending on which side of the border that is US or Cdn..he's not
picky!!) over the last 8 or 9 years and either delivered them nothing or
partially finished floats. The odd person gets a complete set, but then ends
up diving for their aircraft to find a place to hook the salvage crane
lines. He finally officially declared bankruptcy a couple months ago, just
to dodge the wild mass of unhappy customers. I am sure he is still building
stuff though that will put your airplane over gross before you add any fuel
(500lb+ for a set of 2250 amphibs's!!) and WAY over gross when your plane
does the submarine impression and fills full of water because you fitted his
"garbage" to your airplane.
Cheers,
Wayne

WhatOK, now that you have the rest of us wondering what your talking about.
*-------------------------------------------------------------------------*is it with the floats, Wayne? Can't stand the suspense!
So your oil temps were 210 at 2600...what where the CHT's?
