Sheet metal brake

Post by Ralph Baker » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:11 pm

I have used the approx 30" combination brake / rolls that my local A&P
has. I think it is a Northern or Harbor Freight model from China.
Actually, it has been a lifesaver. .040 Aluminum is about the practical
limit. To increase the bend radius put another piece of stock on the
inside of the bend. It won't work on longer pieces due to increased
forces but fine for most work. Be especially careful with 2024-T3 to
allow sufficient bend radius.
