Stupid Elevator Trim Tab Tricks
Posted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:08 pm
Wayne - I took a look at your idea and it is pretty good - the only thing is
the Elevator is 2.5" thick and the servo shaft is about 5/8" down off the
surface - It might put some extra angle on it which I am hesitant to do - I'll
draw it up to see how the hole in the skin lays out - How much trim tab
up/down deflection do you expect to see?
Thanks -- Britt

-> think!!
->
-> I'll have to go back out in the shop and stare at the one I have here. Not
-> sure how the trim unit is going to function correctly with the tabs hinge at
-> the bottom as well. Still think flipping it over and then maybe move the
-> trim motor to the (new) bottom skin so the rod comes out the bottom and the
-> hinge is now on the top skin (but on the right side!). Have you even mounted
-> the tab motor yet??
