Rebel Tail spring

Post by wrayt » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:08 pm

Wayne I see Princess Auto has a 24" 2 leaf slipper spring for
sale on pg 2 in their latest sales flyer for $14. As I remember
the one http://wrayt.tripod.com/leafSpringcuts.jpg you used was a
3 leaf (they actually picture a four leaf) Do you think this one
would work OK? They are rated for 1000lbs in pairs.

Rebel Tail spring

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:08 pm

That spring in the picture IS a 3 leaf spring. Flash shadow does make it
look like 4 on the right side though!. Unfortunately about 2 years back
someone F'd up at CTC and used the same part number and started bringing in
a 4 leaf spring in place of the 3 leaf. I was hitting the old, out of the
way CTC stores to stock up on 3 leafs under that part # but not sure if any
are still out there on the back of shelves!

The PAuto 2 leaf might work okay. Can't say for sure, but for $14 not a big
loss if it doesn't work perfectly (but can't see why it wouldn't)

WRAY
I have a 24" three leaf 2000 lb. capacity slipper with part # 2080065 on it.
If that's the spring you're looking for I'll give it to you if you cover the
shipping cost.
