G'day Frank !
I'm just about to make & fit a 4 into 1 exhaust system for our IO -
320 in Rebel 541R .... could you please send me the photos of the Swiss

Thanks

Hope this can help.
I started flying with gliders, so for me, quieter is better!
I have installed a 36" swiss muffler on 0145R and is working well
so far!
Very quiet on the ground and in flight. Just one word of warning, the
swiss
muffler can be made with an aluminum outer shell that is seamed
together. If
the engine you are using has large exhaust pulses, and the muffler
attached to
solid to the exhaust, it can split the seam open.
I gained 150RPM static when I switched from a single SuperTrapp to
the
Swiss so I guess the EA-81 was asking for a bit more back pressure. I
didn't
drop bolts through the floor, I installed a 4"x6" 1/8" thick aluminum
plate to
the underside of the aircraft and used 2 timing belt rubber straps for
vibration damping at rear. On the front I installed a rather expensive
stainless braided flex coupling from the local autoparts store. You
have to
ensure that the engine exhaust and Swiss muffler have plenty of flex
between
them or it will rip the Swiss Muffler to bits. I can send pic's if you
are
interested.
