Firewall brace

Rick, by serial # you had at least two .025's FUS-70's and hopefully you
installed them on the lower carrythru to firewall sections! I had to buy two
more when I built mine, as I accidently installed the pair of .025's to the
top cabin to tailcone postion so had to order a new set for the intended
position. Turns out a good thing, since I have found on customers airplanes
that .020 in the upper tailcone to cabin position isn't the greatest!

Cheers,
Wayne

Thanks Bob & Phil ! .... can't remember if my corner wraps are .020" or
.025" ....I'll have to get out my verniers & go see ... (ouch, that'll
be a hell of a job if they're not !)

Just forget about it Rick (and get a good night sleep!) and make sure that
you have the upper motor mounts reinforced as well as the door post
(staggered interpitched rivets or float fix bandaid at top of door post)
beefed up and fly the thing. It's no harder to replace those lower corner
wraps now or later, if they happen to deform during a hard landing. If they
never deform then you've saved youself a heck of a lot of work and the
attempt at matching the paint job!

Cheers,
Wayne

Thanks Wayne !

Hell, I reckon I've got NO chance of figuring out if the other
corner wraps are .020" or .025" !?!

Assuming I DIDN'T stick the .025" ones on the lower firewall
carrythrough .... what effect / outcome will I be looking for /
expecting to see ?

Yours, now worryingly

Whew ! ... Thanks again (I don't know what us "Murphy Mob" would do
without great backup info like you !)

Thankfully, I've done the firewall bracing (triangle doubler plates) &
the double row staggered rivets on the door post .... in SS rivets too !

Thanks again Wayne ! :-)
