Moose Landing Gear

I heard today that Murphy has redesigned the landing gear for the Moose. The
gear looks like Cessna gear legs bent where is passes through the slot in
the fuselage and the two part support bracket has been replaced with a one
piece bracket. The story I heard is, it went to a Moose that lost its
landing gear.
Has anyone heard anything? I think MAM is recognizing that the Moose
landing gear is a problem. We need to be asking how this new gear will
retrofit our airplanes. Murphy is being quiet on this subject!

Hi Al !

Haven't heard anything about this, but it <might> be a
one-off experimental design, being tested by some brave volunteer !

This sometimes happens, to see if it really IS an improvement
by field testing .....

Maybe we'll have to wait a few months before getting toooooo
excited about it. I <DO> like the PPONK mods for 180's ....
something along those lines just makes sense !

I have heard rumors but nothing as good as yours. I agree, we need to stay
on them and get this fixed. It would be a lot easier to remove and replace
than "repair" and replace...

I know there was a change in the SR2500 trigear, which I've
received, but the Moose is strictly conventional, isn't it?

We have machined at great cost a different set of gear legs and fittings for
a customer who specifically asked us to. It is not a design change, and we
have no plans to change the gear on the 3500.

When I talked to Brian last week he said less than that. Sounds like we can
all order the new gear. I want a set for when I take the floats off. I am
fresh out of engine tear down and prop replacement $'s. Not to forget the
paint, 1000+ hours of labor and 8 months to do the last repair.
