luggage compartment

My murphy rebel 299RT, does not have a panel at the rear of the luggage
area. Therefore, that area is open to the tail. Does Murphy sell that
panel, or does anyone have a idea how ot enclose this?
I have a metal prop spinner for a three blade for sale.

The most practical way of getting rid of this "megaphone" situation is to
just Velcro, or snap, a piece of vinyl upholstery material or even an SOS
coloured Orange tarp piece for dual purpose across the opening. I think I
have a picture of the SOS orange one Charles Dixon asked for in his Rebel
and when I find it I will post to the archive files in ??Fuselage?? or misc?

I have seen many other ways with wood panels screwed in place and aluminum
closing it off, but this really deters from maintenance and access so the
material divider is the better way to go.

Have posted a picture to "Rebel-Interior" of the orange tarp tail cone plug
that Charles D asked me to put in his Rebel, as it's the only one I have on
file.

The picture also shows the mixer assembly cover that I make to keep the
baggage and fingers from jamming the assembly.

Generally the tailcone plug goes one more bulkhead forward and you velco to
the back side of that bulkhead or add an angle all the way around it so you
can snap or velco to the front face instead.

I cut 1" styrofoam to fit from the rear of the seat rails to the back. I
installed the battery and ELT on the floor as far back as it would go.The
syro is cut to butt up to the battery and ELT.Glued 1/8" hardboard to the
styro them glued carpet on it.I made this floor in two parts to make it
easier to get in and out. At the second bulkhead behind the door I cut a
3/8" piece of plywood to fit around the bulkhead,floor to ceiling, side to
side, 1/4" space all round. I cut two grooves out of the floor and made two
corresponding stubs in the bottom of the plywood bulkhead.(no carpet in this
area)The stubs fit into the groove stopping the bulkhead from moving, On the
sides of the wood bulkhead and on the edge of the aluminum bulkhead I
installed a couple of latchs to hold the top of the wood bulkhead in place.I
also carpeted the vertical bulkhead. The carpet should also help dead'n the
sound a little. Good theory at least.

5-6 lbs.yes I'm concerned about the weight but with 160 ponies I'm less
concerned. Will let you know the weight when I'm finished.

Your upholstery of the bulkhead area sound like it would look great. How
much
does all that carpet and 3/8" plywood weigh? I remember seeing a Rebel that
had the whole rear tailcone carpeted right up to where the floor stopped. It
weighed in at over 1100 lb. empty.
