The Murphy Builders Site

Has anyone modified the seats so that they are adjustable up and down. This
would help when there are different pilots flying the plane.

Or is it best to go to the junk yard and get Cessna seats to put in?

We're still waiting for our kit to be del. but with the seat talk I thought
I would ask.

I'm interested in the same thing; but as Wayne pointed out, weight may be a
significant issue. The Cessna seat approach was recommended to me for
vertical seat adjustment. I'm still going to look at some car seat options
and see if I can get an idea of weight differences between the lightest car
seat with position adjustment and the Cessna option. If I find something
of interest, I'll pass it on.

The seat weight, if I'm not really off base, should not really be a problem
with our Moose.
I could be wrong about this as I haven't started to add up ALL the things we
would like to ADD to the plane. I could be in for a big surprise in the
future when I do.
We're in the process of trying to get our ducks in a row. Now that MAM has
moved the plant overseas to another location they lost production time. I'm
trying to find out when to expect our delivery. Was to be next month but
who knows now.

We need info on where to get all the parts for the M-14 install into our
plane. MAM does not have it altogether yet. Any help would be appreciated.

There's two of us that are 6'3", normal build, and my partners brother who
is 5'11' AND 350#'S. Are the seats strong enough??? You do have a
simple method of correcting the seat height. Will have to keep that in
mind.

what a lot of people consider a "short a$$"(5'-4" on a good day) and when I
built my Rebel I built and upholstered the seats for the "normal" guy. I use
a 5" foam cushion on my pilots seat and have from day one of my 100 plus
hours. This not only offers additional comfort under my butt, but also is
very light and easily removed. -Makes a great pillow also. Is this to much

your SR/Moose/Elite or Rebel??
