Wheels message corrected

Opps, I made a mistake in the body of the first message I sent and have
corrected it in this message. Hope it makes the problem clearer.
I was trying to put my tubes and tires on the wheels for my Elite and I
found that there wasn't a slot machined into the hub to allow the tube
stem to reach the hole that was drilled for the tube stem into the Rim.
The wheels are the ones manufactured by MAM.
Is this the way that they are supposed to be supplied? I couldn't find
any specs with the dimensions so I could cut it out myself. In fact the

only information I could find in my manual was the exploded view of the
wheel.
I would appreciate any help or advice.

Wheels message corrected

Hi Ralph
I do recall having to drill those holes but I don't seem to have any
written directions about it even in the bulletins that MAM has issued on
assembling these wheels. There will be some discussion in the archives
back a couple of years. Part of the discussion was that some guys fitted
flexible truck extensions to certified tubes instead of using the bent
stem tube. Pretty sure I used a drilled hole rather than a slot.

Hi Ken
Thanks for getting back to me, I went ahead and cut slots in the position
shown in the exploded view and was sucessful in installing the tubes. I am
not sure the slots are in the right position to allow the tubes to seat
properly, I think slot should have been more in the middle of the hub. Have
emailed MAM for their thoughts as well.
Regards
