Will do... Also thought I'd mention, that I can digitize video for the web
if anyone is interested. I'm not sure how small I could get the files, it
may be cause for me to start playing with streaming. But anyway, if anyone
has a video that they would like to share, send me a copy and I'll see what
I can do with it.

Mike,

I sorted through one pile and picked out about a hundred. They are divided
into catagories (engine/cowl, fusalage, tail, wing, panel, controls, etc).
I will mail them to you in Maryland and we can see how they work out. If
they are OK I have more. Over the six years of construction I had the
opportunity to visit a few other builders and Oshkosh every year. Film is
cheap so I took a bunch of pictures. The pictures are of each persons
project and how they addressed construction. Who knows if it was a good
practice or not. Fortunately the ones at OSH were flying examples and the
others were from builders who knew what they were doing.

Is your correct address?

I've added a few more construction type pictures to my site and revamped the
thumbnail size pictures so they all load faster. I have a few more to come.
Dan
I don't have much specifically for the firewall although you can see a bit
of
the firewall in some of the control panel pictures. Hope they help. Some of
the
pictures were taken a while ago under poor lighting and cameraman conditions
so
they aren't the greatest. Same as Mike I'll be glad to scan and/or put any
of
your pictures up.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for all work,

Excellent pic, Chuck.

I had wondered what material people were making the retrofit brace. Looks
like yours is much heavier/stronger than the 2" alum channel (of unknown
thickness) suggested by MAM. Could you share your rationale?

Hi There

You mention steel tubes between the engine mounts. Did you have an extra
tube
welded into the mount? I noticed that a portion of the witches hat was cut
out to allow the steel mount to seat.

Comments?

Dan,
The pictured mount is a Murphy IO-240 mount, the cross brace is standard
with this mount.
A Franklin sport 4 will fit a continental O-200 or IO-240 mount.
The Murphy IO-240 Mount requires the right upper to right lower side Brace
to be relocated for clearance.

Yo Wray!

I saw an old pic of mine on your web site. That was concerning orientation
of the fuselage bottom skin. That problem has been solved and you could take
this one out as far as I'm concerned. Is that what you mean? I looked
through my 'sent' file and don't see any attachments, so I don't know what
you mean otherwise. Of course I could have sent them and forgotten. Which
reminds me to be thankful for forgetting. It's a necessary step in the
remembering process!

Take care,
Dan

Good morning Wray!

The orientation problem came about because MAM changed the manufacturing of
the bottom skin. I have an older model which had some extra holes punched in
the skin. This created several excellent growth opportunities for me and the
technical staff at MAM.

I don't know if this picture would help others or not. I'll be sending some
pics to you of the construction of R280 soon, which would be more
appropriate to most the builders. For other people reading this, I will send
these pics privately, so worry about them appearing unsolicited on your
computer only if you really like worrying ;-)

Thanks again for your work on the web,
Dan

are on the end of the photo email. (end in .jpg ) They will likely be in
your email directory (varies with systems - mine is C:\irampppp\eudora )

Hope that works for you ....

Hi again, I e.mailed five pictures of my rad installation to Norm L, Bill
N. and Phil and Lisa. They are pretty clear and went jpeg, so you should not
have any trouble deciphering them. Phil and Lisa, you absolutely should not
have any more trouble if you use this type of radiator and allow sufficient
air into the front and make sure you force all the air to go through the
radiator and not around it or over it. I know how you feel, I repeat I had
that problem for nine very frustrating months. Also bear in mind that this
is a custom made radiator and you can tell Ron Davis where you want some
threaded inserts welded to accommodate screws for your particular set-up.
You two are getting updated as soon as I find that invoice. Bi, Geert Frank

Mike,

Forget the request I made to change the pictures of my Rebel on the Rebel
list. I could not upload the new pictures. The upload would stop at 39%. I
think the file was to large and I don't know how to reduce it. I'll try it
again on your private email after I send this.

Bruce Georgen
