The AN525-832 washer head bolts/machine screws that would have come with
yours MAYBE. Might not have with SN171.
I would highly suggest that if you are going to be tying down outside that
you buy some Stainless AN525's if you can find them (might have to go with
AN526 to get stainless). My cad plated ones are like new after almost 8
years of mainly inside storage. Howard's on the other hand have started to
rust slightly, across the top strip, from sitting outside at the lake for 5
seasons and when I install his new windshield in the spring I will be using
stainless hardware. His windshield reminds us of another negative of outside
storage, in that his windshield is full of little "check" cracks that only
show up if you shine a light from the outside with the lights off in the
hanger or of course when flying into the sun they appear as a windshield
full of bright silver spots and make it very irritating to see where you are
going. He had a crack in the pilots top corner for the last 2 years that was
stop drilled anyhow, so time for another windshield.
Remember when you drill for the side and top strips DO NOT drill through the
windshield, as were spelled out in the original installation instructions.
If you drill the holes in the widest angled face of the retainer strip
perpendicular to the door post/cabin roof (and not the angle of the strip)
when you tighten them up they will tip the retainer strip in against the
windshield. I also like to put a thin piece of weather stripping foam on the
back side of the retainer so it doesn't chew into the acrylic.
Cheers,
Wayne

Wayne and others,
What type of bolt are you using to fasten the metal frames that are used
on
the sides and top of the windshield?
