Well I'm getting down to the finishing stuff. Bought some and am getting the
rest of my instruments from SPRUCE.Going to go to Global see what they have.
Will drop into Goulet in EDM. What I am looking for is a prop if anybody
nose(k) of a source. Looking over Bob P. notes he likes the 74"x54 pitch. I
will be putting in a 160hp. 0-320 if this makes a difference as to whether I
should consider a 58" pitch instead.

Any input would be appreciated.

Seems like I read this stuff as it has been hashed around lots already but
when your time comes that one really needs this stuff it takes on a new
meaning.

Hi Murray !

My prop is a 74 x 56 Sensenich - the 54" is strictly a
CLIMB prop. Sensenich recommends the 54" for climb, the 56" for
all-round use, and the 58" for cruise - but that is for the
150 hp. O-320.... Most folks are avoiding the 160 hp versions
hereabouts - for several reasons. Not being able to run auto
fuel being a biggie, since float fliers have little hope of
finding 100 LL at marinas !! Vibration problems with W-D props
seem much more severe with 160's, too, but not as much of an
issue now, since Warp won't sell you a prop for use on a Lyc. !

Depending on your cowling, you might be best to order
the Sensenich from Murphy, as they can supply all the necessary
bits, including spacer & spinner. If you want to do an aluminum
cowl (MUCH easier for maintenance access !!), you can order the
fiberglass nose bowl, or the complete cowl kit, from Murphy.
For a different (nicer - IMHO) nose bowl, Spruce sells one for
the Thorp T-18 ... see photos of Rick Harper's in DCSOL files.

Hi Murray, In regards to the Prop , I am using a Sensenich 74 x 58 on my
O320 H2AD powered Rebel and have been very satisfied. It will climb at an
easy 1500 fpm with a good pay load and even up to 2000fpm with just my 145
lbs and half fuel. That's 80 liters by the way. The only problem , if you
can call it that, is I can exceed VNE at full throttle in level flight. I
will generally cruise at 2,000 Rpm with 115 mph indicated. They say you go
through 3 props. 1/ the one you think you need, 2/ the next try, 3/ and the
one you end up with. Well in my case I am enjoying the my 1st one and have
no intention of changing. 100 hours down ( or should I say up) and millions
to go. You are more then welcome to experience my Rebel any time ( the
weather co-operates that is). Rebel "652" and still flying, Flying
