This is a great idea - it DOES cut down on the noise. Also, you
only have 12 Volts going out to the tip, instead of several bajillion !
Of course, this approach depends on the kind of strobes you have -
the Kunzelman type are designed this way, but the Whelens only have
ONE central box, so it must go in the cockpit (usually mounted on the
fuselage side, behind the baggage area curtain).

It's been suggested to me that I mount the wing tip stobe light
transformer boxes in the wing tips(attached to the last outboard rib)
to decrease radio interference and to have them out of the fuselage
