Prop bolts/spacer

Thanks, Drew, I'm still looking. I have been trying to
cover all the Canada places first, but no luck so far.

I am also looking at possibly changing my spacer from 2
to 1 1/2 inches (S6). I have some extra clearance with
the new spinner so, that would allow me to use shorter
bolts.

So if anyone has a 1 1/2 inch spacer that they would be
willing to trade for a 2 inch one, please let me know.

Walter

I managed to get my hands on a really nice freshly
overhauled Sensenich prop for a great price, and am
getting ready to install it. I just
finished doing the
spinner and am now on the hunt for some cheap prop
bolts. Does anyone know if there are any
good used ones
available? I am trying to avoid the
exorbitant price of
a new prop bolt set. I have calculated the
exact length
needed and could go AN if they are available in that
size. In AN terms, I would need an AN6H-64A. In prop
bolt terms, it would be a ...6S9.

My Warp Drive still works fine, so this should be an
interesting comparison on performance. The
Sensenich is
a 74DM6S8-0-54, so am hoping for good float take-off
and climb performance.

Hi walter I checked with my freinds and no
joy on your bolts but this
showed up on the rec.aviation.homebuilt
newsgroup today you might want to
check it out.

Hi all,
Please reply if you know where I can buy some
real long 3/8" bolts. I need 6 each. The
part number is:
AN6H63A or AN6H63AS
Drop a nickel and call:

Larsen Industries
2758 N. Las Posas Circle
Camarillo, CA 93012
(805) 491-2359

He has a hangar full of bolts.

Walter, if you have a friend with a lathe just chuck it and turn the face
down (after removing the two locator pins)! I had my machinest buddy do a
McCauley 1 1/2" spacer for me and he turned it down to 3/4" thick and ended
up with a truer unit to boot. Had .006 runout when we started and only .002
when we were done.

Cheers,
Wayne

Hmmm, I was wondering, too, if that could be done. I
was not sure if they could be accurate enough in a
machine shop to ensure that my prop will track true.
Also, was not sure if the existing drilled holes would
cause a problem for the lathe.

Thanks, this is one more alternative to pursue.

As long as they dial indicate it first to make sure they have it running
straight when chucked, there should be no problems.
