Moose Extended Baggage Area
Posted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:28 pm
Don, I am doing the same thing with my Rebel (running the cables through the
bulkhead. I placed .063 doublers at each hole but otherwise our installations
look similar. I am just pulling cable right now (no swagging done yet). The
only trouble I have had so far is a bit of noise. It looks to me like I have
some rubbing sounds from the cable passing through the plastic. I have my
holes aligned very well (running a tight string down the center) so I know
that the sound is not going to result in a lot of wear on the plastic or any
wear on the bulkheads.

-> Hi All,
->
-> At Oshkosh this year the factory Moose showed up with an extended baggage
-> area. It was quite impressive to see an additional 5 ft. of storage area.
-> This factory ship had a raised floor to accommodate control cables. Randy
-> and I choose to run our cables through the bulkheads to allow a floor (most
-> likely 3/8 plywood) to be installed at bulkhead level. The major
-> modifications needed involve moving the pulleys that are used for the flap
-> cable rearward and the pair of pulleys in the rear for the elevator cables
-> need to be lowered some 5/8" to allow the cables to pass through the
-> bulkheads just in front of the pulleys.
->
-> I have uploaded several pictures that will replace several thousand words to
-> the maddog site. I think the pictures will show the approach we took. They
-> are in the S-fuselage section. Just click on new files in the last seven
-> days
->
-> Randy and I thought all would be interested.
