Hi guys, asked MAM this but they don't seem to be home.

Just riveted the collars that hold the control column torque tube in place.
It uses the RR5602 SS according to plans. None of the stems stayed in, they
are all hollow. Did a test and got the same result. Do these not keep the
stem inside like the others??

Hi Scott !

As Far As I Know, all Avex rivets have their strength
calculations based on "without the mandrel", so, if it stays in,
thats just a bonus !

If you are dipping all rivets (and especially the SS ones !)
in Polyfiber Expoxy Primer, and installing WET, as recommended,
that usually helps seal and lock in the mandrel.

Hi Scott,
I had the same experience with the SS rivet mandrels pulling out. I have
also had to drill out some SS rivets, they are hell for strong and not easy
to get out. I would not worry.

No they normally fly out as soon as they are pulled even if dipped heavily
in epoxy!
