Four door cowling for Rebel/Elite
Posted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:24 pm
Just took some pics for Jeffrey, so thought I may as well post 6 of them to
the archives files. These show the 4 door cowling on my Rebel. Can be done
on the Elite as well and you could even do it for the Lyco powered SR's.
The only additional thing that I would take the time to do, if building
again, would be to split the nose bowl like a newer C150 so you can work on
the alternator/starter/etc without pulling the propellor. Would just be a
matter of cutting the thing in half at the prop c/l and doing some glass
work to make an overlap flange.
The pics also show what Bob P. and myself have been preaching about. IE: how
simple it is to do periodic inspections and/or maintenance for that matter,
with no tools required other than your phillips head driver on the end of
your fuel sampler.
Hope the pics help the "thought train" for you, as you get closer to
flight!!!!
Cheers,
Wayne
