I've written to Brian Godden at MAM about the hinge reinforcements. His reply
is that they used .032 material that was cut to fit across the web of the spar
and match to the shape of the rib on the other side. The legs should each be
3" long, and use one inch rivet spacing. He agreed that it would make no
difference if the reinf. were inside or outside the stab. Mine will go inside
(cleaner final look and I won't have to make a new hinger "packer" to maintain
hinge alignment). Finally, he recommends using lots of Pro-Seal.
Anybody else have other ideas before I start making mine?

Hi Steve,
This is in regards to the reinforcing that MAM has done on the prototype's
horizontal stab. Apparently the radial/paddle prop combo really beats up the
airframe. Murphy has installed a brace under the outer hinge that ties the
rear spar and outside rib together more securely.
If you look in the S files, Tail, Scott Aldredge posted a picture he took of
that area. I believe this will apply to both fast and slow build aircraft.
