best practices regarding fuel tank fittings

Hi all,

What's the best practice regarding fuel tank
fittings...should they have a sealant or fuel lube on
the threads before installation?

Also, I have installed float-type fuel gauge senders
which have a rubber gasket under the flange. Should it
go on dry, with sealant, fuel lube, etc?

Thanks,

-Jason

Jason,

Re: the fuel gauge (Stewart Warner's) gaskets, I installed mine dry on Wayne's
recommendation. No leaks when I pressure tested the tanks.

I didn't use a gasket on mine. I used proseal and rivets. It won't be easy
if I ever have to change them but they ain't gonna leak!
