Rebel for sale

by Aurele Lavigne
I am now considering the purchase of a Rebel (1650 gross) and preferably with a 150 h.p. I would prefer a finished and flying kit. Anyone have any leads?

As a side not, I will be looking for a home for 063 and here are some of the specs for anyone interested:

-built in 1993 by the factory (they did that back then)
-912 overhauled two years ago by Rotech in B.C. and time since under 150 hours, added high compression pistons less than 50 hours
-3 props, GSC 2 blade wood 72 inch, 3 blade Warp drive taperred with nickle leading edge, 3 blade Ivoprop in flight adjustable with less than 50 hours
-basic instruments, 2 place intercom, 2 new headsets, Bendix King portable radio and ext. antenna, Flightmate Pro GPS complete with ext. antenna and computer interface
-Aero 2000 skis, new plexi skins and tail ski
-new turf tires, not used
-floats, not sure by who and believe 1100's
-Aero winter cowl cover and wing, stab covers, like new

Reg't as AULA, great flyer, cheap to maintain and operate, must sell before another purchase. Pics on demand.

Sellling price firm at $50,000 CND. !!!

I would possibly sell my Rebel for $35,000 US. It has a new wood prop and an O-290. Both engine and airframe have 260 hours.
I live in central Calif.

Thanks, Aurele

Aurele;
Here is some more info on N13BN. It is registered as an Experimental; has a new Warnke wood prop that is a little more climb than I like. At 70 mph it will climb 1100 - 1300 ft/min. Empty weight was 960 lb. It has spring gear with float attach points. Instruments are VFR, with an ICOM radio, King 76C digital transponder and a Grand Rapids EIS. It is brite yellow.

I'm in no big hurry to sell, but i'll get you some photos as soon as I figure how to use my digital camera.

Lisa, I am in Northern Ontario, Canada. Hearst to be precise. As Geert Frank mentioned in a related message, might be a problem for me if buying from the U.S. Anyways, I'm interested in more info, pics, as I have had a few offers for sale of projects and flying Rebels and will compare all available aircraft. In the meantime, I have to find a buyer for mine and will be listing it in major papers/ magazines in the very near future.

Thanks, Aurele

Hi Aurele !

You shouldn't have too much of a problem importing an American
homebuilt - the rules <just> changed to allow this !

The Experimental must have at least 100 hours of flight time,
and be inspected by the MD-RA inspectors here, and can then be issued
a C of A, & C of R, and away you go !!

This could be an advantage, as, for some reason, homebuilts
usually sell for much less in the U.S.A. than they do here ! As always,
you do have to watch for quality workmanship ...

And the 1 1/4" main gear legs (with short 1" stubs at the top) as opposed to
just a single length of 1" tube full length, as well as a few other things.
Any kit shipped after aproximately Feb 1993 has all the upgrades in it,
unless you ordered the AULA or USA "light" version that has I believe a
1400lb gross with the lighter .050" main spars (as opposed to the .063's of
the 1650).

The early kits were lower gross weight. The option raised the gross weight
to 1650lbs. If I remember correctly the only difference is an extra nose
rib at the root and a couple more doublers at the root of the front spar.
