Howdy Michael, I just could not sit back without letting you know a few of
the things we like about the worlds greatest aeroplane. We have the training
wheel on the front at this time. We also have the tailwheel installed. If we
choose to use the tailwheel we remove the main gear from its rearward
location and install the tailwheel main gear. (it's a different angle and
slightly longer.) Daryl Murphy told us that by building for both setups it
would cost us about 70 pounds. We have gull wing doors, electric flaps and
all Electronics International Engine Instruments. We also have a Garmin
250XL, a King Nav-Com and way too much other stuff. My wife and I would like
to use this Worlds greatest Aeroplane for Instrument training. We plan to
fly our time off as a trike and then maybe a tailwheel and someday with
amphibs. We have a 0360 from Aero=Sport Power in Kamloops, B.C.

Subject: Rebel VS Elite

Hello Everyone,

My name is Michael Snow and I am located in Whitby. I am somewhat new to
your list. I have been lurking for about a week, I tried to subscribe for
sometime but was having problems doing so.

Anyhow I am finally here.

I like, most homebuilders have spent the last few years researching what
aircraft I was going to build. I went from BearHawk, to Cub type aircraft
to
many in-between, I ordered drawing after drawing but always seemed to keep
coming back to the Rebel/Elite

I have read just about everything I could get my hands on, and have
watched
the video a dozen times or more. But I am having a hard time deciding
which
aircraft to build.

My intended plans are for at least 180 HP, amphibious floats, electric
flaps
& trim and a full panel (possibly IFR?)

Any opinions, comments or questions would be appreciated.

I am looking for as much input from you guys as possible, I am leaning
towards the Elite, but if you think I should go Rebel, please tell me why.
Please include any tips or modifications you think would be worthwhile.

Thanks for all your time.

Michael

Hi Sam and Sandi! Missed you at OSH this year Hope the progect is nearing the end! Maybe soon? I got to bring the Rebel on the amphibs to OHS but just for fri.pm,Sat and Sun. I left just before the show on sun. Spent most the time at the amphib parking, but I did get to the seaplane base for a splash before I headed for home. What a Hoot! I put my .02 with Daryl for the return of the Banquet. I hope it happens. Keep at it, it's worth it! Curt N97MR
