Received this yesterday - CONGRATULATIONS !! I will
share the good news with the group.

Those of you who have seen "Rollie's Folly" know that it is a
VERY well built Rebel, painted red with metallic gold trim - a real
beauty !! And now FLYING (!!) from a grass strip near Ottawa, Ontario,
where it joins several other Rebels. It has an O-320, full instruments,
transponder & Mode C, all the lights, spring gear, and weighs in
about 970 lb.. Initial cruise is 120 mph at 2,400 rpm, climb is
dazzling ....
More news later ! (Will try to send Mike a photo)

Look! Up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it Superman? NO! It's Rollie's Red
Rebel.
On Saturday morning, November 21, the Red Rebel (offical name C-GROG)
slipped the surly bounds of earth and went for its maiden flight. What
started out as a high-speed taxi test turned into a Oh-what-the-heck, push
on the power and 50 feet later it's flying time! Red Rebel did her builder
proud and performed beautifully. Fifteen minutes later she was back on the
ground at Bearbrook International, but Rollie was still flying high later
that night. His head was on cloud nine and his feet still aren't touching
the ground. This flight was five years in the making and several thousand
rivets, not to mention dollars. What will he do with his time now? Well,
there is always the deck that needs repair, the new kitchen light that's
been waiting six months to be installed.....what's that noise? Look! Up in
the sky! Is it a bird? Is it Superman? No, its Rollie's Red Rebel. I'll
either have to shoot him down or join him! I'll let you know which I decide
to do.
Shirley
