The demonstrator SR does have the eyebrow windows under the windshield and I
liked them there in turns when I flew it, just as Wayne indicates for the
Rebel. I just couldn't remember whether there was any lexan there.

Yes Mike, you just cut the holes and roll the edges down. The windshield
covers them and that's that. A doubler might not be a bad idea either, as my
personal Rebel has a couple of small cracks in the rolled down edge!
HOWEVER, I don't see them in the SR from the factory (or don't seem to see
them in any other SR pics I've seen) and I haven't looked that far through
the manual. Are the skylights allowed here on the SR or is the material
needed there for extra strength?? I don't know the answer to that one so
someone else supply it please. I will say however that the eyebrows are
EXTREMELY handy in the Rebel when doing tight turns to see whom is coming
around the corner (or who is in the way as <you> come around the corner)!!
The way I fly, from time to time, the set directly above your head is the
most valuable for 90* bank turns to look up and see where the strip you are
headed for went. The ones behind your head just sunburn the back of your
neck and the set in the next bulkhead back are positioned well enough you
can see back at the airstrip while taxing.
Cheers,

Subject: Windshield/eyebrow window question
Since the windshield covers the area where the eyebrow windows go, is it
necessary or prudent to put lexan in the roof or can you just cut the
holes
and leave them open? Maybe throw a doubler around the hole for good
measure? Won't the windshield seal be enough to keep the rain out?
