To make it easier for everyone to post and view photos, I've setup anonymous
FTP access that will allow anyone to post photos were everyone can see them.
Since this is web access I would ask that you only post .JPG or .GIF files,
this will allow easy viewing right in your web browser. To view photos, jut
go to ftp://ftp.dcsol.com with your web browser. To place photos on this
site you will need to use an FTP client. Windows 95 and above have command
line FTP built in, but if you are not familiar with this I would recommend a
GUI based client. I have placed a shareware client called FTP Voyager at
the root level of this FTP site that all may download freely.

Mike I down loaded ftpv6004.zip but when I unzip it I get CRC errors on the
exe
file. When I try to run the exe it gets an exception and hangs my system
(BRS
time). Any thoughts? I can get to the site using my current FTP program

Just attaching pictures to the email is probably easiest for non computer
nerd types who just want to build an airplane. Perhaps Wray or Mike or ???
could later copy the pictures to a ftp site just to have them in one place.
I think that is sort of what is happening now. The pictures are great. The
easier it is to send them, perhaps the more we will get.

Curt I've been having the same slowness myself. #306R There is so much of
the wing
that requires a second person - moving skins, turning wings over etc. I
finally I
got in the mood about 2 weeks ago and got some help. I'm still on my first
wing but
in those 2 weeks I finished cutting out the tank area of the skins,
deburring
everything on the wings. making and gooping in all the little tank fittings
and
blockages (those little things to fill most of the gaps to the outside of
the
tank.) My proseal which has been in the freezer for several years seems to
be just
fine to. Installed the bottom tank skin last Thur and followed yesterday
with the
top skin. I've done the whole tank with standard rivets as well because my
kit
didn't have the tank rivets. I'll let you know how well it seals in a day or
so
....tried breathing some air into it after closing yesterday and some of the
goop
started to come out so I'm going to let it set up good before testing.
Bottom line ....the tanks were not the mess and problem I thought they'd
be but
I'll repost here in 3 or 4 days after I'm sure they hold air for a couple of
days.
Keep plugging away ...it feels so good when you accomplish something after
such a
long time (I've had that wing on the bench for a couple of years) Hoping to
have
this wing all closed and put away within the week. ...Wray

Don't feel like the lone stranger. I built both wings simultaniously up to
the skeletel stage and finished the first one pretty quick. The second one
sat on my table for a year and a half. Durring that time I did my Subaru
conversion. I finally got back to it and dad and I finished it up a couple
weeks ago. Now both wings are hung up in the garage. Real good feeling.
Every succesful builder I talk to says the same thing - you gotta do
something every day. Even if its just sweeping the shop. It's amazing how
quick it goes together if you work on it - or how long it takes if you
don't... I'm sure I'll be more motivated with the fuselage. I keep telling
myself I only have to build one;-)

Hi Guys

I could not agree more with the comment. Just keep taking a few steps each
day. Even if it is simply planning or getting on the phone to get parts on
the way. (You do alot of this once you have completed the aircraft up the
firewall). I find I get discouraged if I do not see consistent progress and
then you want to go out and buy a Cessna. (What a fate! There has to be
more
to life than flying a 172). Keep working/thinking about it a little each
day
and you will be amazed how you can move through 'hard' problems etc.

Happy building from the slowest or second slowest builder (I am neck and
neck
with Curt).
