Navaid Auto Pilot Question

G'day from SUNNY Australia All ! :-)

Well...we've managed to clock up 120 hours in 541R in our first year of Rebelling !!!

I took a fellow builder mate for a weekend away to attend two separate Fly-Ins a couple of weeks ago. We did 1200 nautical miles (real miles) in three days so we could go to our biggest Ultralight convention and our biggest Home Builders' convention ...in different states and BOTH a l...o...n...g.. way from home.
As we took off form the ultralight convention , the air was sooooooo smooth neither of us touched ANY controls once we levelled off at 5,000 ft for about an hour ...we just both sat there with our arms folded...and when we needed to correct our drift, we both LEANED to one side until we got the desired course change !!! :-)

We are off to Ayers Rock ( a HUGE monolith in the middle of Australia ... about 1300 miles west of us here in Sydney) in 5 weeks time.... stopping over at many interesting places along the way. doing about 3,000 NM in total (probably more if you count the sightseeing side trips as well)

And .... I finally fitted our Navaid Wings Leveller / Auto Pilot today ( yay )

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE FITTED ONE OF THESE TO THEIR REBEL !?!?!?!?!?

if so ....HOW did you mount the servo & arm assembly etc .....?

Got any pictures you can send ???

Also : as an aside

I just finished making propeller # 8 and ran it today,...cutting off pieces after each flight to get the desired RPM...and it goes "OK"...but wood still doesn't match up to metal in a number of ways I won't bore you all with at this point in time.

Propellers are kinda RARE down here....especially as I made our propeller extension and made it SAE # 2 (4 & 3/4" Bolt diameter circle ) as I knew that this pattern was better for wood.....BUT ....I'd like to buy a metal prop' ... But I cannot afford to buy a new one :-( ............... SO ........

Has anyone over there got a Sensienich 72 X 50 or 72 X 52 with "part life " left on it for sale ?

Thanks guys !

Rick & Wendy Harper

PS ... for those of you who are still sloggin' away ....KEEP GOING ! ...you really can't imagine how pleasant a REBEL is to fly ...especially compared to SO MANY other planes that are NOT as forgiving in the handling department, or WON'T fly "hands off" like the REBEL WILL, won't carry anywhere near the payload that a REBEL will and also won't get you "in" AND "OUT" (a far more tricky item) as many tight places that a REBEL WILL :-)

I put the servo inside the cockpit on the floor the the left of the pilot
right under the aileron torque tube. You will probably have to crank the nut
inside the unit to get more strength as the Rebel aileron system has more
friction than my Long EZ....Brian
