Can't remember if I posted this before, but I'm going to do it again just in
case I didn't!

The Rebel that I'm currently installing a new outer cabin floor, bulkheads,
FUS-45's, FUS-2's, door sills, FUS-10's, 25's, 26's, landing gear (and
various other things) onto got into this shape when the rear drag brace
fittings (FUS-45's) attachment failed and pulled out of the floor, while
taxing thank god. Of course then the main gear leg buckled forward and
ripped out of the attachment bolt at FUS-2-1. Next the wing was on the
ground, the Sensenich was clanging the pavement and like they say the rest
is history. This all happened because the FUS-45's were installed using 1/8"
RV1410 rivets. These brackets are supposed to be updrilled to 3/16 and
installed with 7 x RV1613's per fitting. If this had of been done, during
original construction, she would still be flying. In the newer kits the
possibility of his happening has been decreased as MAM is supplying the
FUS-45's with a couple holes already at about #12, so the hint is given that
they should be #11 (3/16) if you miss the one liner in the manual like the
builders of this one did.

I just figure if a group of 3 guys, building one aircraft, can miss this
important item during construction then there is the slight possibility that
someone else out there may have done the same. If I've got you thinking, go
look at your work before you are doing what I am doing to this one!!

Cheers,
