Hey guys,
I'm getting ready to install the floor channels in the cabin area and I'm a
bit confused. It looks like the dimensions in the manual are to the center
of the channels. It shows the channels that the seat rails set on to be
10.625 apart but if I measure the seat frames, the seat rails need to be
9.625 apart. So the way I see it:

The measurements are to the center of the floor channels.

The seat rails are moved inboard so only the outside flanges are sitting on
a floor channel.

This sound about right?

I put the rails on the seats first and then positioned them centered on the
control stick

Sounds right! Put the rails onto the lower seat sections to hold them in the
right place while you drill them. The newer manuals show double channels but
I still don't think they line up anyway. Seems sufficient if they catch the
outside of all the rails. The left rails are purposely set 1" further
inboard to allow the seat to clear the push pull tube that runs along the
door sill.

Hi Wayne,
I think I'll put double channels under the seat rails and space them a bit
apart so the rail rivets will pick up the center of both channels. I
understand about the pilots seat being 1" further inboard. It's just
difficult to figure out exactly where they should be from the manual. All
I'm really after is the distance from the outside skin to the CENTER of the
pilots left seat rail - I can figure everything else from that dimension.

Hi Joel

The manual seems to indicate where the right seat rail goes in relation to
the floor channel. From this then the left rail is 1" further inboard. Look
in your manual for this. And yes if you want the seat rail to catch the
channels you will have to add some channels.

I cut my firewall back 3". The front of the rail is 6" behind the rear edge
of the rear carrythrough.
This seemed about right for me.5"10" 160lbs.
