The next Rebel Builders of Ontario Meeting is Sunday, November 8th,
at 1:00 pm. at the RAA Clubhouse at the north end of Brampton Airport.
If the weather's good, we hope to see several NEW Rebels fly in
for the meeting. Curt Martin & Bill Kelley ("the Boys from Michigan") are
going to bring their Oshkosh award-winning Rebel, and Dave Fife is
also going to try to get here with some of his beautiful fibreglass
tail tips (and maybe a preview of the new Hoerner wing tips !!). Jerry
Milek may be there also, with his new book on test flying your new
aircraft.
Hope to see you all there ! (There will be some more Super Rebel
builders, too !!!) There is a lot of experience to share ...
Free coffee & donuts, as usual - everyone welcome !
(Even if you don't have a Rebel yet !)
We're going to try to have bagels & cream cheese, too !!
.....bobp & Anna
p.s. Please bring a folding lawn chair, as seating might be short.
p.p.s. We usually go out for pizza & beer after the meeting - all welcome
!
THANKS !

Sorry - didn't have a camera at the meeting. These tips ARE beautiful
!!
Dave makes one tip that fits the rudder AND the elevators - you just trim
a little extra off for the rudder. They're $55 each.
He delivered 2 sets to builders at the meeting - happy campers !!
Dave brought the 'first cut' plug along to show us for his new
Hoerner wing tips !! These will fit the Rebel, Elite, AND Super Rebel,
and look VERY nice. They will sell for $185 each.
Testing here by one of our members, using crude metal Hoerner
tips on his Davis DA-2 gave an extra 4 mph cruise AND lowered the stall
by 3 mph. !! Not too shabby.... The composite tips should be a LOT
cleaner - of course, the Rebel will never go 300 mph :-)
The wing tips will be tested first on the award-winning Rebel
from Michigan, built by Bill Kelly & Curt Martin. If they work out
alright, they will fly it to Sun 'n Fun for everybody to see (and
order ;-) )
All of these tips really look good, and, if you value your time
at all, are worth EVERY penny !! Some of our builders said they had spent
as much as 40 Hours trying to finish the standard tips to look decent !!
Dave said he'll be back for our next meeting, Sun. Jan. 9/99 -
will try for photos then.
In the meantime, he can be reached at:
3D Composite Aircraft Parts Inc.
David Fife: Aircrafttips@yahoo.com
(Tell him you heard about it here :-) )
