Reading the MAM CD control section I notice that there is only one jam nut
on the short (3") push/pull tube located between the control column
internal push/pull tube and the first bell crank to the left. That jam nut
is at the bellcrank end. The result is that the threaded steel rod end at
the control column end of the short tube is expected to rotate in the
aluminum tube plug. That makes me apprensive as to the long term service
due to wear as it screws in and out any time the stick is moved fore or
aft.

Am I concerned about nothing? Has anyone come up with a good alternative?

Thanks for your thoughts,
Ralph Baker

Yes Ralph! Previously posted and just talked about the other day when Curt
confused CC-47 for CC-48. Put a jam nut on both rod ends! Then for the CC-47
rod end attachment cut two slices of 5/16OD x 1/4ID steel tube about 3/16"
long. Put one slice above and one below the rod end bearing when you
assemble the thing. This will allow the rod end to rotate far enough to give
you full elevator movement, without bottoming out if you set the jam nuts at
the right starting point when you do final rigging. Don't forget to put a
penny washer on each assembly for the slight chance that the rod end bearing
falls out. An AN970-3 drilled to 1/4" works the nicest, for all the 1/4" rod
ends, due to it's smaller outside diameter.
