SR Fuselage rib

Post by Mike's Email » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:59 pm

Just a quick warning to SR builders (and perhaps Rebels and Elites) to check the width of the flange on the fuselage rib before installation to make sure it is the same as the door post channels and cabin bulkheads. My fuselage rib had significantly wider flanges and didn't match the width of the door post channels and bulkheads. I had to fabricate significant "packers" to fill the gaps. Looks terrible and doesn't fit very well. Didn't notice until the dang ribs were already too far installed to replace. I actually thought that maybe they were all that way until I saw Rob Merdes and Chris Gill's planes. You bet Murphy heard about it!
