Has anyone split the T-18 nosebowl. It is a pain to have to remove the prop

Not the T-18, But that's what I did on the fiber glass cowl I have. You can drop the bottom half off pull the top half of the nose and the flip up aluminum hoods for complete access without messing with the prop.

Charlie Eubanks

Split Cowl

Post by Charlie Eubanks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:05 pm

Hello All

I have finally reached the point where I need too split the one piece engine
cowl. I am some what familiar with the West System Epoxy but can anyone tell
me what is the preferred resin/epoxy system used on the Rebel
cowl/windshield and the fiberglass supplied with the kit?

I am also wondering since I was shipped the piano hinges, which method works
the best for attaching the top and bottom cowls, the cam locks or the piano
hinge. My instructions sheets only talks about the cam locks.

Thank you in advance.
