RU-411/105 rudder horn assembly for tailwheel steer

Hi guys and gals!

Got the rudder "fix" all drilled and ready to go back together, just didn't
feel like mixing chromate on a Friday afternoon.

I also did some "on the fly", drill in hand, engineering with the RU105/411
horn assembly that goes on the bottom rudder rib though. I felt that the way
it is spelled out in the manual the entire assembly is really depending on
all the load to go through the 3 x RV1410 rivets and the lower rib flange to
transfer rudder travel to tail wheel steering. This may be fine on pavement
and well kept strips, but I suspect that with time it will give up on muddy,
unprepared strips. What I did was fabricate some new .032 doublers similar
to the RU-411, but about 5 1/2" long so they pick up 4 rivets on the lower
flange and the bottom rivet on the main spar. This will stiffen the area up
and cut down on the dependancy of, strictly, the rib flange to transfer the
twisting load.

Uploaded 3 pictures to the builder files.

*****I must caution that these are strictly my thoughts on this area, with
no "field" proof to back up the requirement (as I have with all my plain
Rebel mods) and that you should govern yourselves accordingly before
following my lead.
