IO-540 x 300HP for SR2500/3500 or O-320 for Rebel

Hello Guys and Gals!
I have been "kicking" Greg down at Leavens (Toronto/Mississauga, Ontario),
for some time now, to come up with a price to put together some IO-540 x 300
H.P. Lycomings for the Super Rebel. He had bought 10 cores last year and
then has sat on them ever since. I gave him a nudge when I was down before
Christmas (reminded him that he had a few years of his salary+ tied up there
in core value and before the Leavens family realized that he had better get
his ass in gear!) and I can now offer the following pricing for anyone that
would like to go with a freshly overhauled horizontally opposed engine for
their machine (and pass on the "romance" of the radial!)!
Greg had also mentioned that they had a few O-320's coming up when I was
there in November, but I had a lot on my mind at that time (4 days before
the knife!) and forget what they were. If interested in a fresh O-320 let me
know and I will get the details. (price is usually around $19,000 or
19,500Cdn these days with new starter and alternator included). I am also
pretty sure A.T.C. (Orillia, Ontario) still has an O-320-E3D available at
$19,500 (or better) including all accessories.
If you are interested in going with one any of these engines please e-mail
me, off line, and I will make the connection for you with Leavens or ATC,
and try to clear up any questions.
You may ask why go through me!
Reason number one is that you will get a better price than if you go in
there direct.
Reason number two is that it seems you get better service having a 3rd party
"referee", that they want to continue to go out and find customers for them,
as they know I have connections throughout the world (and this can work both
ways for them!).
I think Bob P. can attest to this service as Leavens replaced a coil in one
of his mags 2 years and 7 months after the engine left their shop, NO
questions asked! Also they just rehoned a cylinder/pressure tested/installed
new rings gaskets etc for my engine 3 years after it left the shop, while I
waited at 7:55 AM one morning in November!
AND YES I WILL BE VERY HONEST!!!! They do reward me for my efforts in
different forms. Usually just a better price on an engine when I need one
personally for a rebuild/upgrade Rebel, or a carb rebuilt without waiting in
line, etc. (Hopefully some commision one day soon also!)
The old "what comes around goes around" and in a nice way for a change!
Here's the details that I have to date:
