M462RF and M-14P for sale

Thanks for the link Don! I already have an M462RF that is fresh out of
overhaul ((in 1992! so will have to pull a jug or two to confirm rust free
before installing ( if I don't go Lycoming in the end!), although it is
pickled and I haven't heard of problems from others that have gone with this
engine on other projects!)). Engine was purchased through George Coy by the
previous builder. At least with mine there are logs to show how many
overhauls the engine has had and total time since new. These engines are
apparently allowed 6 overhauls, at what I think I was told 600 hours, for a
total time life of 4200 hours (or something similar to that anyhow). The
engine I have (actually it's still in Rob's garage!) has 2161 HRTT on it and
has just been overhauled for the 4th time. I don't read Chech too well but
the overhaul sign offs seem to spell out as 500hr to next overhaul (or maybe
they are signing them off as 500hr inspections like a Canadian AME can do
with a mag, but can't overhaul it!). The actual times before each overhaul
seem to go from just shy of 500 the first time to as much as 780hr between
overhauls on another.

Be careful you don't buy a throw away that has had 6++++ overhauls, thus the
reason they have lost the logs.

Regards,
Wayne G. O'Shea
