Rebel rudder stops

Yes Ken, that is how Bob's is done! It also has adjustable screws to allow
FULL rudder usage, but without the rudder horn bottoming out on the rear fin
post as MAM had it originally set up (and how mine is still being stopped!).
Using the TS assembly bolts as rudder stops REALLY cuts down on rudder
travel, which is a shame as she's an excellent side slipper with the rudder
pegged at full deflection and the stick full over the other way.

I was not happy till I remade those parts either. I did increase the
bolt size to 1/4" and increased their length for a rudder stop. The
thing is, now I think I'd like a little more rudder movement. So I'm
thinking of putting a short piece of 3/4" angle on the top of shorter
bolts there to allow a little more deflection?? I think Bobp's plane is
done like that.

BTW I think your computer clock is off by a couple of weeks.

Ken
By the time I added my .040" doubler, the holes in the "TS" bits didn't
line up (sideways) anymore... THATS why I had to remake all those bits

Rebel rudder stops

When setting up the rudder on my Super Rebel I found that I had to cut the
slot in the flange of the rear fin post almost all the way to the radius to
get the 25 degrees. The rudder stop I installed is almost redundant since I
positioned it to stop the rudder just prior to the rudder horn bottoming out
on the rear fin post. I don't see how you could get more than 25 degrees of
deflection on a Super Rebel.
