Wing Tip Align

Post by steenson » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:22 pm

I guess this question is mainly for Elite and Super Rebel builders. In
attaching the fiberglass wingtip I dutifully mounted aileron and flap and set
them up in the 5 degree reflex position. The wingtip fits nicely, but for one
matter that I don't fully understand. The leading edge of the aileron spade
is flush with the wingtip at this reflex position but the outboard trailing
edge of the tip wants to sit about an inch higher than the aileron. I have
pondered this for hours, and I can't see how it can be any other way because
of the contour and profile of the formed fiberglass tip.

Have I screwed up somehow? My point of reference has been Cessnas where
everything is lined up when ailerons and flaps are in the neutral position.

Advice is deeply appreciated.
