Has anyone considered putting a round cowl on a Rebel? I think it would
look really cool - like a mini Beaver. I'm going to try to figure out a
way. Maybe I'll call the plane a Murphy Muskrat!

Hi Joel !

Thanks for the photos - GREAT shop !!! Lots of useful info
there for Subaru users !!

You could probably start with a Renegade 'bump' cowl - might
just fit over the Sube ! That sure WOULD look NEAT !!!!! :-)
Folis Jones has a Sube in his Renegade (although it's an EA-81),
and it looks sharp.

I think you'll be really happy with the Subaru for power.
The stock engines usually give about 130 - 140 hp., and that seems
to work just great for the Rebel. I've seen over 1500 FPM climb,
and less than 6 gph fuel burn, at 110 mph - pretty decent numbers !
Folks cruise at 4,800 to 5,200 rpm, some using 5,400 in higher
states of tune .... and the 3 blade Warp Drive 72" prop seems to
work OK (the 4 blade was a LOT of extra drag !!)

Yes, I have always wanted a round cowl, too, but couldn't find anyone to
make one for me. I like the looks of the Renegade and even the Kitfox cowls.
I want a round engine and a round cowl. If only the Rotec engine was a
little bit bigger :[
