rudder tweaking

All,
I just use a smaller (5/16 x .020 about 1 1/4 long) side spring hooked into the MAN rudder spring. Easy to adjust and no holes to drill. However I just put a tab on the rudder. The reason is I have small feet. When landing I h ave to lift my foot up off the floor to the brakes. The spring loaded rudder gives my a quick little S turn.

I will take credit for knowing that on most Rebels I have worked on they seem to pull the rudder, on their own, to one side or the other. The manual just tells you to drill and install springs with no regard for what effect it has on rudder pos itioning. The extra holes in the bath tub fitting I have to credit to Drew D. as I believe it was his post that spelled this out for rudder adjustment/tweaking using a row of evenly spaced holes.

trim tab! I have a feeling that, if you lift the tailwheel off the ground,
you will find that your pedal springs are pulling left rudder and you are
just making up for it by pushing right rudder!! Next time you fly it look
back (if you have rear skylights) and see if the rudder tip is aligned with
the forward edge of the fin when holding the required rudder pressure. If
it's aligned your fin position selection was correct and it is just one
pedal spring overpowering the other.
