Safety Cable

I remember years ago reading about a Steersman biplane on the East coast. Flying sight seeing tours. Lost the engine off the mounts and dead sticked a landing with the engine hanging on the safety cables that where installed. It might not have completely ripped off the mount at all points. Like I said it was a while ago, But I remember the statement about it hanging on the safety cables.
