Yes Mike (and others that have asked "off line"), this is correct 180 H.P.
(O-360 Lycoming) in a "plain" Rebel! IMHOpinion he is asking for trouble and
as a matter of fact the reason the guy called me was to ask if I had a fix
for a "wiggling" firewall!

If done correctly with reinforcing plates on the firewall (and possibly
tying the engine mount fittings into the aircraft better with channel back
to the carrythrough) it is not the engine I would be concerned about since
the Elite (to the best of my knowledge), carrythrough forward, is no
different than the stock Rebel other than some very small firewall
reinforcing plates. It is the tailfeathers that I told him to make sure were
still there before, and after, each flight!

Wayne,
I just assumed you were talking about an Elite.
