Hi all,
Two questions:
1)With reference to the SR builder's manual, Chapter
SIX (wing), section ONE - main spar assembly,
instruction number 51...what is an "F" drill?
2)Also, any SR builder's out there purchase their main
spars pre-assembled? I bought mine factory built and
am studying chapter six trying to make sure I know
where to begin. I think I start with section 6.1,
number 48...but wanted to make sure there is nothing I
need to go back and do.
Thanks,
-Jason

It's a size or diameter. Just like inch increments and number sizes there are letter sizes.

The drill size is .257" dia and is the regular size used as a tap drill if you want to thread a hole to 1/4"-20. There must be some arcane reason for it but English size drills come in number, fractional and letter sizes. There is a chart at http://www.wwforum.com/faqs_articles/DrillChart.html that has metric & English sizes up to 4"!!

If I remember right, the hole that you are told to drill with an F drill
eventually gets drilled out larger later so I just used a 1/4 inch drill.
My wings are complete and I never bought any lettered drill bits.
