Elevator Electric trim wire

For those with electric elevator trim. How long of a pigtail of wire out of
the elevator have you been using? Did you splice back in the
tail/stabilizer, or long enough to reach from inside baggage compartment?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, the best place to splice is right on the "deck" of the FUS-30 pie
plate using either a terminal strip or a multiwire male/female plug
assembly. This allows for easy removal and installation of the entire left
stab/elevator assembly, as a unit, without having to cut any wires. SORRY
typed that for a Rebel and then realized you have an SR. I would think that
there is a place under the cantilever stab that a terminal strip, or plug,
would work on the SR also! If you put it in the tail baggage area you will
be cutting and splicing wires to remove the tailfeathers, instead of just
unplugging.

Scott,
I did a 5 pin connector under the horizontal stab and sealed the wires with
goop. The elevator lead is about 14" from the hinge to plug.
