Rebel pitot

G'day

I have the factory pitot tube and have fitted it to the left wing, but I am not sure at what angle it should sit.

I would appreciate some advice as to to fit it.

I made my own pitot & static heads......and mounted them level with the chord line (foremost
part of the leading edge curve to the tip of the trailing edge)....

Seems to work just fine !

Not sure where I got the info, but I mounted mine so that the pitot tube was parallel with the lower surface of the wing. This was easily done for me by laying a straight edge along the bottom of the wing and mounting the pitot tube parallel with the straight edge. I used a heated, right-angle tube like they use on many certified planes. Now that I think about it, this might be a tiny bit off due to wing angle of incidence and the actual attitude of the aircraft while in flight, with respect to the relative wind, but I can't imaging it will make that much difference. I will be determining most of the "V" speeds myself during flight testing (except Vne which is provided by MAM) so whatever the airspeed indicator reads will be what I use, even if it's off by a half a knot or so.
