Hi David:

I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Itried to buy rivets locally. Nobody had
the same part no. as Murphy. The closest thing I came up with were rivets at
$ :80 cents apiece. Forget it. Called Murphy, they put them on the bus and I
had them the next day. The price was right too.
GOOD LUCK.

David,

I bought avex rivets from Wicks
(www.wicksaircraft.com) - they have a modest selection
of sizes at reasonable prices for small quantities.
Aircraft Spruce has them also, at slightly higher
prices. There is a distributer's list at the Avdel
website:
http://www.avdelcherrytextron.com/distdb.html, and I
believe someone on this list said they were able to
order from Avdel direct as well.

You can order Avex rivets from Aircraft Spruce 1-877-4Spruce (catalog page
100) or Wicks 800-221-9425 (catalog page 100) can both supply Avex rivets.
You can also go to Avex website at www.avdelcherrytextron.com for more
info.

I have 1400 RR4412 flush Avex rivets for sale or trade. We came to our
senses and dcided not to flush rivet the leading edges. These are real
Axex rivets and I would prefer to trade even for a like quantity of real
Avex RR1410 or will sell for US$ 75 and I will ship in the US or Canada.
There must be someone out there who wants a bargain in order to have sleek
leading edges in place of the standard wing warts.

Murphy mis-labeled the SS rivets for my aileron torque tubes. Slow to get a response from them, I'm interested in another source for "Avex" rivets. Is "Avex" a brand, type, or what? Where else can I get what we need/want?
Also, I am just coming to grips with Pro-Seal. Still unsure if I'm over or under doing it; approximately how much Seal do people use on a Super Rebel wing? With the 120 gal tanks how do I get at the center top ribs (6 bays and three access panels) in each tank? Are the Jeffco sealants or the cartridge type sealant/guns in Aircraft Spruce worth looking at?

I've got 80 gal tanks and will use about 4 quarts but i know i used too much pro-seal. As far as the bays with no access i cut in factory identical access holes with mam doublers.

I just ordered extra access panel covers and doublers with my kit and will cut an access panel in each bay.

The rightwing tank on my Meranda has started leaking, they are
welded up tanks and a couple of the weldes have broken loose so
the bottem skin of the tank has pulled away from the internal
baffels. My plan is to reatach them using Avex rivets and Pro-seal
My question is, are the rivets used on the tanks different than
the standred ones that are used on the Rebel?
