Dear Wayne ;
G'day from sunny but cold OZ !
I'm just about to get 541R back in the air ......... with a borrowed "time-ex" prop.....74" X 48"
(not the greatest numbers...but it'll get me back in the air until I can carve a wooden prop up !)
You might remember, some time back I showed the guys my "redesigned / improved" flap handle
which I made as a "TEE" handle that was more comfortable to the hand & shoulder...and you pull
DOWN to get "down flap "......(which I thought made a whole lot more sense than Murphy's original
setup)....(mind you, I DO realise why Murphy did it their way...simplicity of design / cost etc, etc)
BUT..........
The forces needed to move the flaperons seem quite high...even in flight , where I thought the
vacuum on top of the wing would have helped take some of the weight off the control lever.
I read some time back that you made a floor mounted lever system to move the flaperons..
and also help get rid of some of the slack / slop witht the teleflex cable setup.
Do you have any pic's / drawings of your setup to look at ?....I'd really like to see them !
Many Thanks
(and thanks for all your advice in other matters past !)
