Okay, so I'm getting a Subaru EJ22. I think the EA81 would have been
adequate,
but not super, much better if turbo charged. But the labor involved to do
all
that with the possibility of upgrading anyway after a few years didn't
appeal
to me.
So thanks to Bobp and others for their input.

You can help me further with input about the EJ22 selection/rebuild. I'll be
getting one pulled from a '95 Legacy soon. Also could use some info
regarding
turbocharging the EJ22.

Take care,
Dan

PS: Probably will resell the EA81 or part out if anyone interested.
