Hi Luke

I do not have immediate access to a digicam. I will see what I can find.

I honestly have zero problem with the speed cowling though I must admit I
did a lot of thinking and a few different things in building.

The only problem I have had with the airplane in 190 hours is with the
tailwheel. I have done nothing else but oil & filter changes & clean the
plugs & play with the Warp Drive pitch settings.

The aircraft cruises 112 kias easily. I was satisfied with that but I must
say I may try more reflex per Wayne's comment of 12 degrees. Mine is closer
to 8 degrees I think. The aircraft looses crispness in reflex. When I am
in the pattern & want better control, I always pull the flaps back to zero.

Cheers

Brian #328R

Brian ( #328 REB ),

If there is any possibility of you uploading pix of your cowl ( =
multiple views if feasible ) to the builder's site or to me personally, =
I would certainly appreciate it and find it most helpful!

I am just now in the process of trying to get the speed cowl to fit my =
application, which is a Subaru 2.2 with an EAA redrive. Unfortunately, =
I am going to have to rebuild the motor mount as Eggenfellner's design =
is not going to work at all, but that is part of the "experimental" part =
of this process, I suppose.

It appears that the entire cowl and cooling issues are some of the least =
clear, especially with any non- Lycoming application. Again any photos =
would be wonderfully appreciated; written descriptions second best but =
still appreciated.

Thanks, LUKE #503 REB skydoc@nidlink.com

Questions

Post by Dick Shotwell » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:13 am

To All You Moose/M14 Drivers:
During our condition inspection, we are doing some tweaking on the
airplane and engine. We have a couple of questions on which we need
your comments.
1. Do you use a water separator between the air compressor and the
starting system?
2. Where are you sensing oil temperature(s)? Do you sense inlet
oil temperature to the engine, outlet oil temperature from the engine,
oil tank temperature?
Thanks,
Dick and Dave Shotwell
